D.E. Lavoro Agency is seeking a Database Administrator / Engineer for a well-established international organization operating within the online trading and financial services industry in Limassol.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing critical database environments to ensure high availability, security, and performance across the organization’s systems. This role involves close collaboration with Development and DevOps teams, supporting infrastructure improvements, troubleshooting complex database issues, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the company’s data architecture.

Job Responsibilities:
Administer and optimize production and development database environments, including MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and related technologies
Monitor database health, query performance, storage utilization, and system efficiency
Implement and maintain backup, recovery, replication, and high availability solutions
Work closely with Development and DevOps teams on schema improvements and query optimization
Ensure database security, user access management, and compliance with internal standards
Investigate and resolve database-related incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions
Support automation initiatives through scripting and process improvements
Stay up to date with emerging database technologies and industry best practices
Position Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a Database Administrator or Database Engineering role
Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB, including replication, sharding, and performance tuning
Solid knowledge of MySQL administration, indexing, replication, backups, and query optimization
Good understanding of Linux-based environments
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Percona Toolkit
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation tasks
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams
Naturally curious and interested in learning new technologies
Takes ownership and responsibility for systems and processes
Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills
Proactive mindset with the ability to identify improvements before issues arise
Comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving environment
