The EU Blue Card is initially issued for a period ranging from 24-36 months, with the possibility of renewal for up to three years if allowed by the employment contract and passports validity.

· If a Blue Card holder has not completed one year, he/she is not allowed to work for 30 days upon the change of employer.

· Having completed one year, employment is allowed immediately.

· If a Blue Card holder has not completed two years of residence and becomes temporarily unemployed for up to three months, the card will not be revoked.

After the completion of the two years, the Blue Card holder becomes temporarily unemployed for up to six 60 months.

· Family members can apply at the same time as the applicant with a joint decision or after the blue card has been issued, processing time takes up to 90 days.

· They are guaranteed access to any kind of employment, including self-employment, in accordance with Cypriot legislation.

· Application examination takes up to 3 months 1 time

· Collection of EU Blue residence permit within 30 days from date of approval.

· Short-term mobility: A holder of EU Blue Card has the right of entry and residence for the purpose of exercising financial activity in one or more EU member state for a period up to 90 days within any 180-dayperiod (blue card, passport and evidence of business purpose of the stay are required).

· Long-term mobility: After 12 months of legal residence in Cyprus, Blue Card holders can move to another EU member state to work by presenting the blue card and passport. They must apply for a new Blue Card in the host country within one month of arrival.

· Travelling throughout Europe with the EU Blue Card: When your EU Blue Card is issued by a Schengen member state.

· Permanent Residency: After 33 months of continuous residence in Cyprus under the EU Blue Card, individuals can apply for permanent residency. Eligibility requires proficiency in the Greek language and contributions to the social insurance system.

· Citizenship: Following 5 years of continuous residence, Blue Card holders may apply for Cypriot citizenship.

· Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia Spain and Sweden. Ireland and Denmark do not issue the EU Blue Card.

· You can work and live in another country for two years without losing your permanent residence status, provided you notify immigration services before leaving. For employment in that other country, you still need a temporary work permit, such as an EU Blue Card.
