EU Blue Card

Cyprus has recently implemented the EU Blue Card scheme to attract highly skilled non-EU professionals. This residence and work permit allows qualified individuals to live and work in Cyprus and other EU member states, excluding Denmark and Ireland. Also applicable in Liechtenstein, Norway, and Iceland.

Who? 

  1. Third country nationals residing outside Cyprus

  2. Third country national holders of residence permit in Cyprus

  3. Third country national holders of tourist visa in Cyprus

Eligibility

To qualify for the EU Blue Card in Cyprus applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Employment Contract: A valid employment contract or binding job offer for a highly skilled position lasting at least six months.

  2. Positions: Positions in the ICT sector, pharmaceutical research, and maritime industry (excluding crew roles) are eligible.

  3. Salary Threshold: An annual gross salary of minimum €43,632 or €3636 monthly

  4. Educational Qualifications:

  • A university degree of at least three years or

  • Three years of relevant professional experience within the last seven years in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector.

   5. Health Insurance: Valid health insurance coverage in Cyprus.

   6. No threat to public policy security: The applicant must not pose a risk           to public policy, security, or health in Cyprus.
