Accounting Officer

On behalf of our client, a well-established professional services company, we are looking for an Accounting Officer to join their Accounting team in Nicosia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting needs of multiple clients across a variety of industries, including financing, investment, and trading companies. This role involves maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing accounting engagements for audit review, supporting VAT and payroll processes, and communicating with clients, fiduciary service providers, and relevant authorities. The position requires strong attention to detail, good organisation, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts while working in accordance with IFRS and the Companies Law.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage the accounting of multiple clients across different industries, including financing, investment, and trading companies.

• Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards, IFRS, and the Companies Law.

• Prepare accounting engagements for audit and submit them for managers’ review.

• Communicate with clients and fiduciary service providers throughout the accounting and audit process.

• Prepare and submit VAT returns.

• Liaise with the Inland Revenue Department when required.

• Prepare payroll records for clients.

• Liaise with Social Insurance authorities when required.

• Ensure all accounting and reporting activities are completed accurately and within required deadlines.

Position Requirements:

• Previous working experience in a similar accounting position.

• Previous bookkeeping experience is preferred.

• LCCI Higher qualification.

• ACCA or ACA studies will be considered a plus, but are not mandatory.

• Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Knowledge of CaseWare and E-soft accounting systems will be considered an advantage.

• A BSc in Business, Economics, or a related field will be considered an advantage.

• Fluent in both Greek and English, written and spoken.

• Pleasant and professional personality with strong communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail, organisation, and ability to manage multiple client accounts.
