Network Engineer – Larnaca (Hybrid)

On behalf of our client, a well-established and leading Information and Communication Technologies company in Cyprus, D.E Lavoro Agency is seeking an experienced Network Engineer for a Larnaca-based office with a hybrid working model.

This role is ideal for a networking and security professional with strong Cisco experience, hands-on infrastructure knowledge, and the ability to support complex enterprise environments. The successful candidate will work on network design, implementation, security, collaboration systems, technical documentation, and advanced support.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to understand technical requirements and design end-to-end network, security, and collaboration solutions, primarily using Cisco technologies.

• Architect and implement complex network infrastructures, including routing, switching, and security layers.

• Develop and maintain collaboration systems involving voice, video, conferencing, and content-sharing platforms.

• Establish and apply network security policies to protect sensitive data.

• Prepare and update technical documentation and diagrams to support troubleshooting and smooth project handovers.

• Install, configure, and maintain networking and security equipment according to best practices and project timelines.

• Monitor system performance, apply updates and patches, and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.

• Conduct security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement risk-reduction measures.

• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for complex networking, security, and collaboration incidents.

• Deliver technical workshops, presentations, and pre-sales support, including responses to RFIs and RFPs.

• Act as an internal information security lead, supporting compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

• Produce reports on system performance, risks, and capacity to support management decision-making.

• Perform additional duties as required by management.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Cisco certification, Cisco knowledge, or relevant related experience.

• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, STP, Multicast, QoS, VPC, and VDC.

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in the design, deployment, and management of large-scale Cisco-based network environments.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting Cisco platforms such as Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, and ASR.

• Experience designing and troubleshooting Cisco security solutions, including ASA, Firepower, ISE, DUO, and Umbrella.

• Familiarity with other vendors such as Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, or Juniper will be considered an advantage.

• Exposure to Cisco Unified Communications, including CUCM, Unity, Expressway, and Webex.

• Knowledge of alternative collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams, 3CX, Avaya, or Asterisk will be considered an advantage.

• Understanding of Cisco wireless solutions and Meraki platforms.

• Experience with load balancing, application delivery, and WAF solutions, ideally Kemp.

• Familiarity with monitoring and automation tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, Netbox, Graylog, or scripting for configuration management.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

• Willingness to travel within Cyprus and occasionally abroad.

• Strong problem-solving ability, adaptability, and a proactive mindset.
