Family Reunification Permit 

Applies for:

Third-country nationals that have acquired a BCS permit have the right to family reunification, meaning that they can apply for their family members’ residence permits. The permit’s validity ranges from 1 to 2 years and can be renewed for as long as the sponsor's permit is valid. 

How to apply:

The main requirement is for the marriage to have taken place at least one year before the submission of the application. Family members, apart from spouses, include minor children and legally adopted children under the age of 18.

Required documents:

  • Original passport with a minimum validity of 2 years

  • Original marriage certificate and birth certificate

  • Original criminal report (applicable for spouse)

  • Medical insurance

  • Medical report (medical exams performed in CY)

  • Sponsor’s employment agreement (minimum 18-month validity)

Permit's Restrictions:

  • The permit is bound to the sponsor's permit.

  • Family members are granted, upon first registration, a residence permit for one year.

  • Permit is cancelled if the holder remains for 3 consecutive months out of Cyprus.
